Kyle & Carson

In one sentence. Wealthy Affiliate is THE most sophisticated online business building platform available right now.

This may come across rather biased. But first, give me a chance to explain why it’s indeed a fact.

Kyle Loudoun & Family

Wealthy Affiliate is co-owned and founded by Kyle Loudoun and Carson Lim. The dynamic duo have had success prior to Wealthy Affiliate’s establishment.

With there knowledge and experience gained beforehand. They combined forces to become one impenetrable unit. They grew a close bond and reached a spoken agreement.

After finding a direction to run with, they united their dreams and visions as one!

A vision of creating an authoritative brand that offers innovative software technologies, ground breaking support and updated training materials.

Which in fact, Kyle and Carson have succeeded in doing this for clients using Wealthy Affiliate growing out e-businesses.

This vision has proven to be a successful one for many users committed to Wealthy Affiliate. Potentially, you could jump on board the bandwagon and share in the limitless success.

Wealthy Affiliate’s main focus is to provide help to everyday people, both new and experienced in online business related matters. The service helps by teaching members how to achieve success and continue growing in a successful way.

Success is only earned through trial and error. Learning from one’s mistakes. Kyle and Carson save you the time by not failing. Because you learn from their mistakes made over the years.

Kyle and Carson have been dedicating most of there adult lives into the continual development of Wealthy Affiliate. They’re showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. They plan on shattering any obstacles in there way and reaching milestones each and every year.

Since the early days of 2005, Kyle/Carson, plus the team working behind the scenes. Have enhanced Wealthy Affiliate’s overall resourcefulness and quality of service incrementally over the years.

Back in 2005, Wealthy Affiliate was nothing more than a keyword listings membership service. Now, Wealthy Affiliate has evolved into an entrepreneurs main go to resource for information, training, software tools, security, help and assistance etc.

To this day, these pioneers remain on top of there game. Wealthy Affiliate’s innovation alone is well above the online standard.

Typically, Kyle & Carson spend 60-70 hours each week enhancing Wealthy Affiliate to new heights. Here’s some of their weekly activities…

  • Marketing/advertising.
  • Website development.
  • Creating and updating textual/video content for helping and relevancy purposes.
  • Lending assistance, or advice to both professional and aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • Providing website technical support.

Depending however you define levels of success. Leaps and bounds can be achieved within a days work.

Kyle, Carson’s level of commitment gives off an awesome vibe. This is quite obvious with a little time spent inside. If you have a plan of action. Wealthy Affiliate can enable you to tackle at it, head on.

Think of Wealthy Affiliate as a long-term business venture, because that’s exactly how it’s designed to be. It houses a diverse multi-cultural community of helpful, success driven entrepreneurs. Both new and experienced.

Membership sign-ups have exceeded well over the 2 million mark since it’s day of inception.

Most people inside, (particularly long-term serving members) are ready to offer help at the click of a button. Help is 24/7/365, there is a variety of helpful features to choose from depending on your particular set of circumstances.

Surely, you may think it’s easier, or convenient to go search for helpful info that’s indexed within dominating search engines.

Carson Lim & Family

And the help may appear well written and convincing. But, how would you know if the content from the search engines are accurate and still up to date in this day and age!

Many websites contain content that’s published many, many years ago. Can therefore lose a degree of relevancy.

Major/minor updates to search engine algorithms frequently occur within the online world. If you were to use predated marketing strategies, or implement legal/illegal Black-Hat/White-Hat techniques based on outdated/misleading content published from years ago.

It will no doubt have a negative impact toward your websites overall and/or potential success. Quite possibly temporarily, or even permanently!

So, it’s in your best interest to access dated info to remain stress free while you work on your e-business.

Wealthy Affiliate keeps it’s education updated when necessary. It’s members can notify if a training resource is outdated by click of a button. Training materials are updated around 750 times per year. System improvements average at 155 fixes each year.

Always remain vigilant outside of Wealthy Affiliate! Information retrieved from low trusted websites could be purely written in a way to turn over a quick buck. Looking to palm off a bunch of BS for fast cash. Instead of providing some rock hard verifiable facts and evidence backing that research.

Getting help from trusted authoritative websites is the best way to go about when scaling your online business projects. Wealthy Affiliate has established itself as a trusted authority within the industry and receives clout from people and search engines.

So ask yourself this question! Can I invest my spare time into Wealthy Affiliate’s opportunity of a lifetime? I know I will inherit specific sets of skills, allowing me to manage a thriving and successful long-term online business!

I state the phrase business! As it’s not only limited to affiliate marketer training.

Starting out online at Wealthy Affiliate is not just limited to affiliate marketing ! Although, it does have its advantages!

  1. Hypothetically speaking. If you owned and operated a land based business rented out in the real world. Had no website, or website related training or experience. Your business would be missing out on a great deal of exposure for your potential audience online.
  2. Utilising Wealthy Affiliate’s services ritualistically. Could allow you to establish an authoritative website, which will promote your brand, product and services.
  3. This brand awareness can be achieved through persistent marketing efforts taught at Wealthy Affiliate. Free and paid.
  4. To list a few marketing campaigns you could run once trained are: Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Media Marketing (SMM) Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing to name a few popular methods.
  5. Executing these marketing styles can attract a substantial amount of customers for your offline business! Which may lead to profitability and dominance within your competitive industry.

This explanation does sound easy in writing. But the journey is a marathon, not a sprint! No doubt, it takes a serious level of commitment to achieve exponential financial results and success.

Results vary person to person/organisation. It’s solely up to each individual/organisation to take action to reach new heights. Individual skills, commitment and abilities will play into effect.

Education & Training

There is a deluge of actionable business related education and training within the Wealthy Affiliate centre. Educative contents are comprised into categories for safe storage, and easy access.

PayHourlyWork.com – Is PayHourlyWork.com Scam or Legit Way To Earn?

This is going to be bad news for some. What Is PayHourWork.com about? Is PayHourlyWork com fake, dishonest, fake, fraudulent, crooked, scam or Is PayHourlyWork genuine, safe, real, trustworthy, legit, good, honest and paying out? This Pay Hourly Work review is going to blow the lid on that copy of that site. I say ‘copy’ because there are 100’s of maybe even thousands of these sites, all identical except for site URL and logo, bombarding the net with their fake work from home offer. It is not the fastest way to earn online but is probably one of the quickest ways to get scammed online for sure! You may see these articles exposed by this website such as MyWeeklyWork.com, MyMonthlyJob.com, DoPartTimeJob.com, EasyWorkApp.com, MyPaidJob.com are all just a small few that will show you they are part of a scam network.

So, it is all bad news, or is it? Well, all these sites mentioned are really very bad sites and never has one even produced one payment proof to any of their members. But the good news is there is a real way to earn money online. There are two options:- Paid or Free Ways! Paid means you have to invest some of your own money but you will end up earning sooner. Free means you can work as long as you like and you may not earn a dime because Paid Options will always give you more training and tools. One such site called Wealthy Affiliate offers these options to show you how to earn online with your own site. You get your 2 free websites, free training videos (20 in total) without obligation for paid options. I mention WA because they have helped me earn online and I know, if you are sincere in your search for real and trusted/paying online work – you will love my #1 Recommendation.

#1 Recommendation – Click to Find out How to Earn Online for the Long Term!

What Is PayHourlyWork.com – Blunt Report on their Crooked Operations.

M any bloggers love to ‘sophisticate’ matters when they come to telling you the answer to one simply put question, to such as, What Is PayHourlyWork.com. Not me – I just blurt out the truth to save you time because we all have better things to be doing then to be dissecting crooked sites all day and night! So, they are not legit and they are extremely fraudulent. To know if this is the truth, from your perspective, then you can see how I have come to this conclusion with such conviction so early in this short article.

We begin to find out who paid for the online registration of the site i.e. the owner. A quick look at the sites registration details and I can see they set up this illegal site on the 03/10/2020 and it will run online for just one year. Many fake sites prefer one year online because they know full well they will be known as pure scam artists by then and so only intend to shut it down when they have fleeced enough people.

don’t work at www.payhourlywork.com!

Their sites registration has no founder name! That is HUGE when it comes to telling if a site is scam or not, from websites that offer paid work form home positions, and of course does not apply to bloggers. When you are dealing with incorporated companies then they will have to list such data in order to be trusted. Lacking these details is considered to be ‘deceptive’ website behavior.

Lastly on their identity, and we check out all the info on their site. There is no real world address. Their email is probably fake and won’t deliver, many times this occurs, and of course no founder name. Not good and all good pointers to tell us we are dealing with dishonest people. I mean how can we work for someone that we don’t actually know? So that is always your first question in determining if a site is good or false.

The only ‘address’ supplied is PO BOX 0823-03411, PANAMA. For some reason scam artists love to use ‘PANAMA’ as their location when that is so clearly not the case as they would be terrified to give away their real location or end up in prison for quite some time.

How Their Scam Works to Waste Your Time, Your Efforts and Take Money From You.

Here we will cover what they are about. The work is simply sharing your referral link. Those that click that link will end up earning your cash, but not really. The average earnings are said to be $200 per day and $ 5000 a month ! That is strangely high for simply having people click on your link when they buy nothing and there is no exchange of money for goods or services. This is clearly not real.

That really is all you do, share your link. That is that covered. No we can see that they are a referral scam network and you won’t find any payment proofs anywhere online that are legit! You may find a ton of You-Tubers leaving their sign up links in their video descriptions to get you to sign up via them for such sites as PayHourlyWork, but they are only the scammers, or some individuals that truly don’t know they are promoting a scam site.

Cash Out Is $300 and that is another scam sign right there! When you see cash out thresholds higher than $100 then just know you are probably dealing with a scammer site based on that one little bit of data right there. Normal is $100 to cash out. More common is 1c to cash out and maybe as high as $20 and that is normal to see those levels to get your cash. The point to setting such high withdrawal limits is to make sure you work your socks of making their scam site successful and earning for them.

This is obviously done by you sharing your referral link to get others to join. When Google sees that they are getting good traffic it will think it a good site and give them more traffic. So please don’t add to all this and stop sharing your referral. I would appreciate if you could share this article to help warn others online as these sites can do serious damage in the space of just 1 year.

The Scam Activated!

Now I would like for you to know how they may intend to do you out of your hard earned cash. This process is repeated on all of their sites and all the scam sites can exist under the hopes not too many people will spot their obvious scam network hurting others online.

So when you have ‘earned’ $300 then you can try to cash out. Here are the 3 Deadly Traps they have set for you :-

Complete a Survey but they will probably charge you to complete this task. That is how they are trying to steal cash from you on that option.

Upgrade – pay to upgrade to their premium options but you still won’t get your earnings.

Complete an Offer ! This is the worst trap they can lay for you in my opinion. This involves handing over your payment details to an unknown site to take advantage of their trial offer. Many trial offers, even from so called legit sites, will have hidden charges that could be charged to your card monthly. So contact your bank, or which ever payment service you used, and get them to investigate hopefully leading to a full refund.

Verdict :-

Final Thoughts.

Report any site that you suspect of being an online scam below and I will be happy to expose them for you. Regarding the listed sites that are all the same at least now you know they can’t be trusted. Do report them below as well if they conned you in some way to help warn others who may doubt this article. To those I would say to continue on with your own research and never take anyone site as the final word on anything until you are satisfied you have come to a correct conclusion.

Do you have questions on PayHourlyWork.com? You are welcome to ask below and I will do my best to help you out. Those that really are looking for real online work can learn to work for themselves. Why ask someone else for a job when you have the power to make your own? Some of you may think ‘you’ can’t do it for some reason. That is fine, I was the same. However you won’t know until you try and so it is very possible. You are welcome, as mentioned, to check out my #1 Recommendation , of which I am a member of, to help you decide if running your own site is for you. Thanks for clicking on this article and looking forward to all of your comments to come.

Earnably Review – Scam or Legit? (Why I Have Mixed Feelings)

At first sight, Earnably looks like an easy way to earn instant rewards online.

But is Earnably a scam or is it really a legit way to earn? And is it easy as the website claims?

I have joined to test Earnably myself and to compare it to the many similar sites out there.

Let me reveal right away that I have mixed feelings about the platform. It does have potential but there are also aspects that I do not like.

In this Earnably review, I will give you all the details and give you an inside look so you can see exactly what you get and judge for yourself if it will be worth it for you or not.

Disclosure: Some articles on this website contain affiliate/sponsored links. Click for more info.

What is Earnably and what does the site offer?

Earnably is an online reward site, or commonly known as a GPT (Get-Paid-To) site where you can earn money and is free to use.

It was started in 2020, so compared to some of the biggest GPT sites it is still fairly new. But that does not mean it cannot be worth it.

Registration is fast and free. You only need to provide your email address, create a username and password, confirm your email, and you are good to go.

As soon as you get your account up, you get to your dashboard and can see how you can earn.

It has a clear and simple interface so it is fairly easy to get started. But most importantly, you need to know how you can then earn there and how good the opportunities are compared to other similar sites.

So let’s go over all the options below so you can see if it will be worth it for you or not.

I have created a video that gives you an inside look and shows you exactly what you get and how it works. You can also read all the details below the video:

Option 1 – Daily surveys

Paid surveys are a big part of most GPT sites, and it is also one of the best ways to earn on Earnably.

It has a section called Daily Surveys, where you can find access to a good amount of paid surveys.

You can find several survey options – but it is not easy to see how much you earn.

All the survey options are from survey routers, which means you will be taken to partners of Earnably to take the surveys there but you will get the rewards into your Earnably account.

Just be aware that for many of these partners you have to fill out some basic information again before you can start taking surveys. That is a bit annoying but that is how it is and luckily only the first time you use each of the routers.

Earnably definitely gives access to quite a few survey opportunities but there are some things about the way you do it here that I do not like.

You, for example, cannot see how much you will get for the surveys before you click and go to the partners and fill out info there again.

That is not very user-friendly compared to many other GPT sites where you right away know exactly how much each type of survey will give you.

Also, Earnably shows you can take surveys through Surveytime, but it is a lot better to just go directly to Surveytime yourself and sign up there. Then you will get $1 for each survey and there is no middleman to take a cut.

So overall you definitely can earn by taking surveys on Earnably but compared to other survey sites I have tested it does not give the best overall options and experience.

Option 2 – Offer walls

All GPT sites have offer walls where you can find all kinds of online offers, and Earnably also has several of these.

In fact, it gives you access to quite a lot of them.

The offer walls you can find on Earnably.

Here you can find offers and get paid to, for example, download apps, play games, click ads, sign up for trials, and more.

If you make sure to read the conditions for each offer, you can find some great ways to boost your earnings here.

You can see on the image above which offer walls Earnably gives access to. Many other GPT sites give access to the exact same walls.

So if you are a member of several other sites already, there is no need to join Earnably just for access to the offer walls unless you like the overall experience and opportunities on Earnably better.

Also, be aware that I have seen it reported that offers were not tracked properly.

Imagine the effort and time that you’ve spent only for you to find out that your completed offers were not tracked or did not reflect in your account.

Ok, so here are a few things you need to make certain before you get started with the offers.

  1. First, you have to disable your ads blocker since their website works with cookies and the ads blocker might not allow some scripts from their website to run correctly.
  2. Second, your browser must allow third-party cookies.
  3. Third, make sure you follow each and every instruction that comes with the offer carefully to avoid invalid entries or submissions.

Lastly, clear your browser’s cache from time to time and always take screenshots of any error messages when completing offers. You might need them just in case.

Option 3 – Watch videos

Getting paid to watch videos sounds great, right?

Well, to be honest, the video option is easy to do but it is rarely worth your time – that goes for more or less all GPT sites and not just for Earnably.

It can, however, be entertaining as you can find videos in more or less any category.

You can watch as many videos as you want – but for a very low reward.

You should, however, not do it just for the money, in my opinion. You have to watch 3 videos including ads for each to get a reward.

You will then get 0.7 points – 1 point is worth approximately $0.01. It will probably take you around 10-12 minutes to watch the videos and ads to get this reward.

That is a lot of time for not even earning 1 cent, right?

So use the videos as entertainment but if you are on Earnably to earn, there are other methods that are a lot better.

Option 4 – Download apps

There is a whole section on Earnably with apps and games you can download on your phone or tablet and earn points by doing this.

You can see right away what the reward will be and what the conditions are.

You can earn by downloading apps.

Make sure to pay attention to the conditions so you know exactly what you need to do to get the reward. Usually, you need to reach a certain level to get your reward, use the app for a certain amount of time, etc.

You can also browse through the app section on desktop. When you have found an app you would like to download, you can then click and send a download link to your phone.

I am, however, not impressed with the size of rewards you get for these downloads compared to what you can often get on other sites. But if you choose carefully, it can be an easy way to earn and a fun way to get to test new apps.

Option 5 – Invite friends to join

If you like Earnably, you can earn a bit extra by inviting friends to join.

You will earn a 10% commission of everything your friends earn. This will be paid by Earnably as a thanks to you for inviting a friend so the earnings of your friend will not be affected.

So if you like Earnably and know friends or family that would also like to join, then it can be a way to earn a little extra.

Option 6 – Earnably promo codes

Another way of earning points on Earnably with less effort is to watch out for their promo codes because they give out codes that you can use to claim or earn instant points.

They give out two types of codes – one is the Bonus Code that basically adds a certain percentage on top of any of your completed offers for a certain period and the other one is the Point Code which will automatically add free points to your account right away.

In order for you to get those codes, you will have to follow their Facebook or Twitter pages, where they regularly post these.

You can regularly find the bonus promo codes on their social media accounts.

The bonus codes a rarely very high but if you are actively using Earnably it can be worth getting this extra bonus.

Also, sometimes you might get a promo code via email if you allow them to send promotions during the sign-up process.

Right after joining, I, for example, got a welcome email with a promo code with 25 free points.

But the free points are quite rare compared to the bonus codes, in my experience. So do not expect to be able to make a lot of money just by waiting for free points via that Point Codes.

How do you get paid?

Now you know how you can earn on Earnably but how will you then get paid for your effort?

The ways you can get your earnings out depends on the country you live in. But there are 3 methods that are available in more or less all countries – these are PayPal, prepaid Visa, or in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, and Litecoin.

Some of Earnably’s payout methods.

The payout threshold depends on your chosen reward. You can request a PayPal payout already when you have earned 125 points but for Visa, you have to wait until you have at least 500 points.

In some countries, you can also choose between a lot of different gift cards. The threshold for these also varies but is often quite a bit higher and there are many of them you cannot get until you have earned $20.

1 point is in general worth $0.01 but this is where it becomes a little complicated. The exact value depends on when you request your rewards.

For example, if you request $1 for PayPal, it will cost you 125 points. But if you wait until you want $5, it will cost you 500 points.

This is a bit confusing compared to similar sites that pay out through PayPal. But even $5 is a reasonably low payout threshold so it is not too bad to wait to get more for your points.

It takes up to three days for them to process your rewards.

If you wish to have access to a “VIP” feature like priority payments, you have the option to apply for a “Trusted Account”.

Take note that you are only eligible to apply for the trusted account if you are located in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and EU.

Also, your account should already be at least a month old with multiple rewards gained and with no history of chargebacks or suspension.

Once approved, you will get a tiny yellow crown on top of your dashboard avatar and your rewards payment will be prioritized which means you can receive your rewards in as fast as 5 minutes.

How the Earnably trusted account icon looks like.

Their website FAQ page provides full instructions on how you can apply for a “Trusted Account”. But in short, you have to contact Earnably and apply and then you will be told if you are eligible or not.

How much money can you make?

Earnably has quite a lot of ways for you to earn. But I must say that if you, from looking at what they say on the website, think it will be easy money, you might end up getting disappointed.

100 points are equal to $1 which means you are required to get 1000 points to earn $10.

This will not take too long to reach, but compared to many other GPT sites I have tested, it does not offer quite as good opportunities and can take some patience.

It definitely is a way to earn some extra cash but you just need to be aware that it will just be some extra cash on the side and go into it with that expectation if you decide to join.

Can you use it on mobile?

You can access their platform on your mobile or tablet browser so you don’t need to rush to a desktop computer to complete their offers because you are still able to do so even if you are on a train, at the coffee shop, out of town, waiting for your bus, or you simply don’t have access to a laptop or PC.

Their website is Android and iOS-friendly which is good since they do not have a mobile app available yet.

However, they do say in their FAQ section that they are hoping to create an app at some point. But until then, it is great to know you can use it on almost any screen without problems.

Who can join Earnably?

Earnably is available to join from most countries. However, the number of available offers and surveys will depend on your location.

The majority of their offers are will be for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Europe.

Also, be aware that there are currently around 28 countries that cannot join Earnably. These are mostly countries in Africa and Asia.

One more thing you have to be aware of is that they do allow up to 3 accounts in one household on 3 different devices.

But having multiple accounts yourself is a no-no. I personally would advise you to refrain from using multiple accounts from a single device because their system might detect it and that might cause account suspension.

Also, you should not use VPNs when accessing Earnably or it will automatically lock your account as they see this as an attempt of cheating.

Can you get support?

It is always good knowing if you can expect support or not if you should ever need it.

Earnably offers support in several ways. The fastest is to visit their FAQ section on the website that has quite a lot of info.

But you can also send them a message. Just be aware that they say it can take several days before you get an answer.

Finally, you can contact them on their Facebook page. From what I have seen, they are fast at getting back to people that post there about issues.

The support answers quickly on Facebook.

It is a good sign that you can see they respond quickly there.

But in most cases, they tell people to send an email. So it looks like there is no shortcut and you might as well send an email right away if you should need support and then be a patient and wait for the reply.

Final verdict

Earnably is definitely a legit site and it is a real way to make some extra cash so you do not have to worry about getting scammed.

This does, however, not mean it will necessarily be worth it. So let’s finish this review by summing up the pros and cons so you can get a better overview before deciding to join or not.

Pros:

  • It is completely free and easy to use.
  • Offers and rewards are sponsored by reputable brands.
  • Low payout threshold

Cons:

  • Point system a bit confusing
  • Not as good options as many similar sites
  • There is a risk that completed tasks will not count properly if your browser setting is not compatible with the platform.

Overall, I like Earnably is so easy to use and it has a good amount of opportunities. So it is a real way to earn a bit extra and you can quickly join Earnably on its website.

However, there are, in my opinion, sites that offer many of the exact same opportunities but with better overall options.

Therefore, I would recommend you to check out the best survey and GPT sites in your country to get the best value for your time.

If you have any comments, questions, or have any experiences with Earnably yourself, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.

Scam or not scam?

Oct 12, 2020

I received a proposal fro an ongoing translation job and I am not quite sure if it is a scam or not.
Here is what they asked me to do:

1) Open a Payment Hub account (where I actually don’t have to put any personal detail and no need to add my bank account as with Paypal).

2) Purchase the package on the following website with money that they send me on the Payment Hub account.

I tried to open the account to see what happens and they actually have sent the money that I’d need in order to buy the package of email marketing tools.

3) After I’m ready with the tools, start a training with them to learn how to use the programs and get on translating.

When there’s money involved beforehand I always assume it is a scam, but in this case they actually gave me the funds.
What do you guys think? &#x25B2 Collapse

Update Oct 13, 2020

I also tried to send an email to the company where he should be working, which happens to be one of the biggest human resources firm in the world. I’ll see what they tell me about this guy.
Moreover, the website with the programs to be purchased using his money accepts Western Union transfers only, which means that I have to withdraw the amount received from him on my bank account (so I’d have to give the bank details to Payments Hub).

It sounds very, very suspect Oct 14, 2020

How did you get the job? Companies like that don’t normally contact freelancers directly.

Stay clear Oct 15, 2020

Your provide a service for payment. So anybody who wants you to buy something first, even if they give you the money to do so, for a vague promise of receiving work in. whenever – if ever, sounds quite dubious. My question is, why would you need an email marketing tool if they really only want you to translate?

Very suspicious! Oct 15, 2020

Why don’t the company buy the software and simply send you a license code? To twisted minds like mine, this way of sending money out of a company to providers you do not really work with would look like embezzlement.

Personally I would not touch it with a barge pole. This is not a normal business relationship whereby you do a job and get paid, and abnormal procedures are usually not a good sign.

One possibility how it could work as a scam Oct 15, 2020

I certainly agree with the doubts my predecessors raised.
What were you actually supposed to translate? Those marketing programs? If not, why would you need them to do your translation?
It certainly smells fishy like hell. the only thing I can think of how this would work as a scam is that it’s actually this company who is selling those “marketing tools” (whatever they are) and that once you buy them, they’ll withdraw the money they sent you through this Payment Hub thing. Now, I know nothing about this service but PayPal has this kind on buyer protection which is gift for scammers and which allows a buyer to cancel a wire, if they claim they didn’t receive the item (even if they did). The money is then repayed to them by PayPal. This is very known scam, it has some fancy name which I don’t remember now, maybe somebody here will know. Afaik, it’s popular in online casinos, where you buy some vouchers to play or subscription or whatever they call it.
So in this way you’d end up sending your own money to them for something that would most likely be a pile of rubbish. In this case, the guy who emailed you wouldn’t probably be from the big HR company you mentioned. I’d be very interested what was the company’s answer.
Also, is it possible to cancel a payment done by Western Union check? If not, that could be an explanation why it’s the only accepted payment. Afaik, in a bank, you can cancel a wire (if you say the receiver is a fraudster), same for PayPal.
Just an idea, I’d be curious if somebody has a different explanation.

Here we are Oct 15, 2020

As expected by the most of you, including myself, it wasn’t anything legit.
The guy pretended to be working for Adecco, which I contacted and denied his presence among their ranks.
Just for the sake of completeness, the marketing tools were needed to market the translated material. Still, I don’t understand how could they profit from this: they send me their own money in order to buy those tools. Maybe the scam happens at a further stage?
Obviously the guy didn’t even try to answer when I sent the money back and told him that I had checked on him.

Anyway, it was a curious new kind of scam for me, don’t know if you more experienced guys ave ever seen something like this. Here are the details used by the scammer to introduce himself:

Definitely cancel if you can Oct 15, 2020

I’m afraid this might have not been the smartest thing to do. If you can cancel the wire, I’d do this, if I were you.

They sent you money, but is that money really yours, to keep? This is a scam, remember. They’re only doing it to make money. It has absolutely nothing to do with translation and everything to do with taking money from you.

Money laundering? Oct 16, 2020

By what means did you send the money back? If the method of returning the money was different from the method you received the money through, you might have participated in money laundering and you could end up investigated by the police.

PLEASE, PLEASE, people: whenever you are proposed anything that is not as simple as doing a job and getting paid by a bank wire or Paypal, simply refuse!

ok ok Oct 16, 2020

As said, I received the money on this Payments Hub from an unrecognised sender (no contract signed, nothing) so I’m not liable of any inquiry.
I’m now thinking if the guy is simply trying to boost the sales of these tools (like singers who buy their own albums to get on a higher position in the hits charts).
Anyway, everything is ended with a big nothing and couldn’t be any different. Just keep in mind his name and the websites mentioned. I just wanted to check what you guys know about this kind of scam that I’d never seen before and help the others know about another time waster on the net.

Be careful Oct 16, 2020

Since the money was sent to an account that you had to open first – that is, to none of your existing accounts – as soon as you established it, you hopefully returned the money via that new account. Any other means of returning it could easily be considered a criminal deed.

You could have also ignored the money and then cancelled the new account. When you cancel an account, you will be asked what you want to do with any money in that account. The answer is simply, return to sender.

Very unlikely to be a time-waster Oct 16, 2020

I don’t think that’s done this way, by sending money to a total stranger and expecting them to send money anywhere. No, that’s a classic scam, I’m afraid.

Fortunately, you’re very unlikely to hear any more about it, so put it down to experience.

I imagine you’ve clicked on the link above the posts to the ProZ.com scam centre? If I were you, I’d sign up to the notifications. In fact I’d advise everyone to do that.

Sheila, by your experience which you guys have probably more than me, what kind of scam is this? You say it’s a classic, but it’s the first time I see it done this way. Where would it have ended?

Money laundering or advance payment/overpayment scam are the likeliest Oct 17, 2020

I have to say first that I’m not an expert in legal or financial matters. I’ve just been around a bit . Money laundering is one possibility, though probably not the most likely. The ‘client’ sends you ‘dirty’ money earned by illegal means. The money you send in return is issued from your perfectly legitimate business so it’s nice and clean.
